Building a Musical Foundation

Nurturing young minds through music literacy

The Philosophy
 All students can possess the ability to have unlimited potential. This statement sits as the core foundation to Teaching Music Literacry to Children. The three artistic processes of Creating, Performing and Responding to music requires student to be proficient in their ability to read musical print and to have solid music aural literacy skills in order to find joy in music making.
The Method
This sequential method focuses on teaching students to read musical print as well as developing powerful aural skills using   solfege. The fusion of solfege with absolute pitch does not occur until proficiency in reading music print along with sight reading and dictations skills of diatonic major and minor are at an age appropriate level. 

Teaching Music Literacy to Children

This curriculum offers a comprehensive music literacy education for children, covering the seven music concepts and skills. Through engaging and interactive lessons, children become musically literate with an understanding of music theory. Once this is accomplished students will be able to experience the joy music in their daily lives. Each lesson uses effective teaching strategies and resources to make learning music enjoyable and rewarding.
